Last week Reception pupils found dinosaur footprints in their classrooms. They investigated by measuring their length, learning facts about dinosaurs and taking photographs.
This week the dinosaur returned and left their eggs behind which hatched in our classrooms. We're going to take care of them until their mother returns.
During the spring term, Year 3 visited the Chiltern open Air Museum. We visited the Deer Mage who taught the children about clans in the Stone Age. She explained how the clans had healers and wise people to help guide the Stone Age people. Later, the students met the Hunter who taught them how people hunted deer for their meat. We also learned that all the organs of the deer had many uses - not just for food! The deer's stomach and intestines were used as waterproof pouches. Nothing was wasted in the Stone Age. Finally, the children finished the day by constructing their very own Stone Age tool using flint, sticks and a special string called cordage. It was a fantastic day. We all leaned so much!
The children (and the adults!) had a fantastic day at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour, we travelled through the Great Hall and embarked on our journey through the wand-er-ful word of Harry Potter. We took a nap in Gryffindor common room, completed a transaction at Gringotts bank, stopped off for a spot of lunch, had a secret conversation with Hagrid in his hut, crept through the forbidden forest and then took a ride on the Hogwarts Express! What a day! A big thank you to all the adults and the children involved!
