- Performance Management
Hazel moved to Aylesbury with her family in 1966 and attended Aylesbury
High School. A Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Personnel and Development, Hazel started working with schools in 1989 whilst an employee of Buckinghamshire County Council. She then joined the Education Department in Bedfordshire County Council and, on local government reorganisation in 1997, she became Human Resources (HR) Manager in the Education Department in Luton Borough Council. For 15 years Hazel provided an HR service to schools and what became the Children and Learning Department (incorporating children’s social care). Hazel has also provided training to Head Teachers, senior staff and school governors on HR issues.
Since her retirement Hazel worked for Citizens Advice, Aylesbury Vale as a volunteer Adviser for 7 years and is an active member of the University of the Third Age. She enjoys reading and cooking. Her husband still works part-time and her four grandchildren live in the North West and South West of England, providing a good reason for visits. She first joined Elmhurst Governing Board in 2011.
