Community Governor | Yvette Davison
Yvette has 13 years of experience in genetics, working in diagnostic laboratories in the UK and the US. Yvette is currently a Pre-registration Clinical Scientist and used to manage the cytogenetics technical team in Churchill Hospital, part of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust. She is also a consultant analyst involved in analysis for cancer patient trials. She is very passionate about the work her team does, as it helps inform clinicians on treatment and care options that have a direct impact on patient care.
In university, Yvette worked with the University of Birmingham Guild volunteer group to encourage children from disadvantaged backgrounds to consider higher education through a range of outreach programs.
Yvette also volunteered at Comer Children’s hospital in Chicago, the US as a play assistant to bring some fun and positivity to children who were admitted for hospital stays ranging from a few days to several months.
With this strong interest in science and wanting to encourage children to engage in education, and in particular, in STEM careers, Yvette was first appointed as a co-opted science governor.
Yvette lives in Aylesbury and enjoys going on bike rides, baking and spending time with her husband and twin children.
