All children from Years 1-6 have their own log-in for the Elmhurst Google Classroom, from which they are able to access, complete and submit their weekly home learning (homework). Teachers are able to provide them with the resources needed in order to research topics or give personalised questions appropriate to each child's ability.
Each week, class teachers upload spellings/phonics words for the children to learn in addition to a Maths activity. The spellings relate to work being studied and may be connected to Guerilla Curriculum, English, Science or be a suggested age related word. Phonics words will be linked to the Letters and Sounds phase that your child is working on. Maths activities will reflect the work currently being taught during lessons.
We would encourage parents to work with their children on their home learning, offering support and encouragement in order to help them develop a positive relationship towards working at home.
