World Book Day

6/3/2014

Picture
The lucky book token winners!
Today was World Book day and the children have had a fantastic time celebrating this exciting day.  All the children and staff dressed up as their favorite book character.  We had a wide range of exciting costumes and were really proud of the effort everyone went to; so thank you all those at home who helped put them together!  The best costumes were drawn out of a hat and the lucky winners won £10 book tokens!

The children took part in a range of book themed activities throughout the day and has the opportunity to mix up and work with children in other classes.  The children in Key Stage 2 were transported to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.  They were sorted into houses before taking part in a range of magical themed activities.  Our Key Stage 1 children focused on a range of their favourite books including Elmer, and mixed potions which created explosive effects.  EYFS had a pirate themed day based around 'The Pirate Cruncher' and took part in a range of learning linked to pirates.

Keep an eye out around the school to see some of this brilliant work!
