    General Enquiry

Please use this form if you have a general enquiry about Elmhurst School or contact on details provided:

    Compliments, Comments and Complaints

Elmhurst School welcomes feedback from parents/carers on how we are working or suggestions for ways in which we can improve our school.  We want all parents/carers to feel able to contact us when they have any concerns, no matter how small.

Initial contact should be with the class teacher or a member of the office staff who will know how best to help you.  If the matter is urgent and cannot wait, then please telephone us rather than emailing. We aim to have an open two-way conversation with parents/carers; we want to resolve any concerns that a parent may have, in a timely manner.

If you are still unhappy with the resolution, and you feel it necessary to make a formal complaint please read The Great Learners Trust Complaints and Resolutions Policy and follow the procedures outlined in this.

Please see Elmhurst Complaints Flow Diagram which explains the process:

    The Curriculum

If you would like further information on the curriculum or how to help your child at home then please get in contact with our Assistant Headteacher, Mrs Viv Woon on 01296 481380 or office@esglt.co.uk

    Requests for Paper Copies

If you require a paper copy of the information on Elmhurst's website, please contact the school office using the contact details provided and we will be happy to arrange these free of charge.

    Visitor Parking

Visitor parking is located directly in front of the school office.  There are also allocated parking bays on Dunsham Lane.  Please be aware that parents and carers are not permitted to use the school carpark to drop off and pick up their child during regular school hours.  This is to ensure the safety of our pupils during the school day. Parking is available in designated bays on Dunsham Lane or at Alfred Rose Park, a short 2 minute walk from the main school gates.  Please do not park on the yellow lines around the school as this causes traffic problems for the community and creates a dangerous environment for our pupils.  If you require disabled parking access, please call the school in advance of your visit.

    Accessibility of the School Site

The school site is largely wheelchair accessible with ramps into the two main teaching blocks, and the Early Years building.  Several of the external teaching classrooms and all main buildings have ramp access.  Four classrooms are upstairs but the equipment is mirrored downstairs.
The following additional adjustments are in place:

    • Steps and stairs are all highlighted with tape for partially sighted pupils.
    • All classrooms have blinds for all windows to prevent glare.
    • Accessible toilets.
    • Accessible shower facility.
